Consultation

Once the first draft of the case is completed, it is offered by the planning group to the leaders of the church, requesting their thoughts and reactions. The case may be redrafted in the light of those contributions but the goal is not a perfect document. What we are seeking is shared ownership and personal commitment from the church leadership.

Think about how to share the draft case statement with the church leadership, and allow time for discussion. Building support and advocacy is important; it is better not to run a programme than to attempt to do so with little of either from the church leadership.
