Financial conclusions

Having pulled together the raw financial data in the early sections of the case, the next task for the planning group is to draw some conclusions and identify the areas of concern and potential and actions that need to be taken. The financial conclusions section of the case provides a simple framework for doing this.

Drawing financial conclusions from the charts and numbers means that we take a good look at how things really are, and that is the starting point for going somewhere else. It can also be a hopeful and liberating exercise. One church in a significantly deprived community had an overwhelming sense that they could do nothing about their difficult financial situation. Yet a simple reflection on giving patterns led an older lady to exclaim confidently, 'We can do that!'
