Gift Aid responses

It pays to remember: that which we render unto God is tax deductible from that which we render unto Caesar! Gift Aid is a remarkably generous financial provision by successive governments that underlines the importance of the charitable and faith sectors to the social fabric of society. It is good stewardship to make the best of this generous provision.
Most churches have a well developed system for claiming Gift Aid. Any weakness is usually around promoting Gift Aid and encouraging new declarations. Posters and magazine articles helpfully raise awareness but all too often recruitment is casual rather than intentional and often a little impersonal. Often the giver is left to take action with little information about Gift Aid and with little recognition of possible spiritual movement by the giver. As with all responses to requests for information, make a personal visit to those who ask about Gift Aid. Make use of the Gift Aid brochure to provide basic information. For a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to claiming Gift Aid, see the dedicated Gift Aid section of the website.
