Weekly giving envelopes

Paul's practical advice is to set apart our giving 'on the first day of the week' (1 Cor. 16:2) For many Christians the journey to generous giving starts with weekly giving envelopes. Properly understood, envelopes reduce the impact of fluctuating attendance and establish intentional, regular planned giving focused on Sunday worship.
The decision to move from loose plate to planned giving is perhaps the most critical turning point on the journey to mature giving. For many people, that turning point is taking weekly giving envelopes that represent a fresh identification with and commitment to the church. Weekly envelopes help with the discipline of giving and make that all-important connection between worship and giving. But we cannot assume people will take this decision without being asked, or that they know how to use their envelopes properly. The Planned Giving Scheme brochure is intended to be given to all those who request weekly giving envelopes. These important issues are further explored in the document On the First Day of the Week.
