National Stewardship Network ConferenceThe 2008 conference had the title 'Culture, Context & Change' and was held in September at Liverpool Hope University. It aimed to engage with leading thinking on how we incorporate a common message within our differing cultures and contexts. The conference objectives included:
Main Conference Presentation Materials: "Church and Culture Today" (Phil Potter) How one church in Liverpool has met and responded to the changing culture around them. (Because of the nature of Phil Potter's presentation, it is offered as a ZIPped directory that also contains PowerPoint Viewer 2003.) "Tipping Point" (Mike Eastwood) Based on the book of the same name (by Malcolm Gladwell) this session looked at how we can aid change using 'Tipping Point Methodology. "So What...?!" (Bill Crooks and Jackie Mouradian) This session looked at how creative tools and games, as well as drama, can be used to communicate the Gospel. Their handout, distributed as part of the session, is also available from this page. Please also note that Bill and Jackie have their own website Mosaic. "Acts: Then and Now" (Rt. Revd James Jones) In this session the book of Acts was used to present some messages still relevant to us today. Bishop James did not speak to a script and the download offered here is based on his notes. Friday Fringe Conference Presentation Materials: "The Challenge in Liverpool" (Gordon Fath) This session considered the tools available to generate a sustainable vision for the local church.
