Introducing the Case

The case statement is the foundational document for the programme. Practically it facilitates the financial analysis which identifies the giving target and a gift array to get there. It also facilitates reflection on ministry needs and consultation with the church leadership. A customisable template is provided and, by way of illustration of how a case might look, a fictional case statement.
In practice each church will engage differently with the case statement; there is no right or wrong way to approach it. Some churches will spend an evening exploring the ministry needs of the church while others will allow 30 minutes in an evening meeting. Engage with the case statement according to the energy, people and time available. Only do what you need to do in order to prepare a robust case in which you have confidence.
