Visitor Training

Visitor training is always helpful to calm the nerves of the visitors, to give a sense of shared purpose and to enhance the quality of the conversation in the home. The agenda is not simply getting the money in but building relationships, sharing vision, showing appreciation and growing together in faith.
Visitor training need not be complicated. The paper Visitor Training: an overview and the Powerpoint presentation suggest the key areas that need to be addressed. Visitors will need to know what they are doing and the reasons for Giving in Grace in the church. There may be some anxieties around being asked questions to which they do not know the answers and a need for some input around issues such as the completion of Gift Aid or standing order forms. Visitor training will address these issues. It should also stress that this is not a one off fundraising exercise but part of an ongoing commitment by the church to fund the ministry and mission of the church.
