Why small groups?

Jesus promised to be present when two or three meet in his name. Discipleship is a shared, not a solitary experience. Money is a tough but important part of life and faithful living around money is not easy. Small groups offer a safe place for discussion, sharing, learning and, sometimes challenge, to earth the preaching.
Small groups have long been a way for Christians to grow and mature in their discipleship. The small-group resources here, both those prepared for Giving in Grace and the excellent materials from other sources, offer bible-based discussions with a range of styles to suit different groups. Some churches have established groups and these resources will fit seamlessly. Other churches create ad hoc small groups, often at Lent, and you may wish to do this for your Giving in Grace programme. Don't assume that small groups will not work without first reviewing the resources and considering the issue carefully on the planning group.
