The Reply envelope
A sample reply envelope is provided which can be sent out with the literature.
- Always pre address the reply envelope to an individual. Address it to Jane Smith, not to a post "The Planned Giving Secretary” or "The Treasurer".
- Although it is an envelope there is no expectation that it must be mailed to the addressee. It is part of a reply mechanism that simply preserves the confidentiality of the individuals' response.
- If you want the replies mailed then put a stamp on it. The rule of thumb is that if you mail out the letters then use an SAE for return. If you hand deliver then expect hand delivery for returns.
- Bear in mind that letters to the fringe and/or association in rural areas or where there are significant levels of non attenders are best dealt with though mailing the letters and using an SAE.
