Contacts for Help and Support

While we value feedback from any church running Giving in Grace so we can improve the resource it is just not possible to offer detailed advice on running a programme to churches outside of the Diocese of Liverpool. We trust you will understand. While a programme can be run by any church there is always an advantage in having an external facilitator to advise. There are a good number of people who can advise either on Giving in Grace specifically or draw on rich experience of putting stewardship principles into practice.

The Diocese of Liverpool
Anglican churches in the Diocese of Liverpool should contact the Resources Department with any queries or requests for assistance. In the first instance ring Resources on 0151 705 2180 or email:
gordon.fath@liverpool.anglican.org

If help is required with any aspect of the children's work please get in touch with the Diocesan Children's Adviser Jane Leadbetter who can be contacted at jane.childstalk@btinternet.com or at jane.leadbetter@liverpool.anglican.org

Other Anglican Dioceses
Many Anglican dioceses in England, Wales and Scotland have dedicated stewardship, resources or giving officers who have extensive experience of stewardship principles and practice. Some will be familiar with Giving in Grace while others will be most familiar with their own diocesan approach or established programmes such as TRIO - "The Responsibility is Ours". Many are full time, some part time and some act in an honorary capacity. To find the officer for your Diocese please contact your Diocesan Church House for further advice.

Also of importance is the Anglican Stewardship Association, an independent organisation for promoting effective and faith-based Christian stewardship. Details are at the ASA web site.

Anglican churches may also find useful information and general help on a number of finance related issues within the Parish Resources website, which is maintained by the Church of England's National Stewardship Officer.

Other churches
There are dedicated stewardship officers in other churches although the coverage and remit is varied. The best advice is to contact your central administrative offices.

Those interested in stewardship resources from the Church of Scotland should make initial contact with the Rev Gordon Jamieson on 0131 225 5722 or email gjamieson@cofscotland.org.uk

Web based resources
A Google search on Stewardship in December 2005 produced exactly 29,000,000 - yes million! sites. Fortunately the hard work of sifting has been done by our colleague Ian Clark at the Diocese of Chichester. Ian has graciously allowed us to reproduce a substantial number of links at our own Links page which gives a taster of what is on his site..

The Stewardship Forum, facilitated by the Evangelical Alliance has a website with a useful collection of old papers on stewardship issues.

Stewardship, the Christian financial services charity offer a wide range of legal and financial support to churches and charities: payroll giving, independent examination, charity formation telephone consultancy and so on. A free 16 page magazine, Share, and two regular email bulletins covering legal/financial and stewardship issues are most useful.
