Welcome to Giving in Grace
Giving in Grace is a lay led stewardship programme linking faith with giving as an act of worship, thanksgiving and ministry. The programme focuses on our Christian responsibility and personal discipleship in the sometimes sensitive area of giving. Giving in Grace is not a one off fundraising exercise. Carefully and prayerfully planned it will yield significant financial results. However, the purpose is not simply to balance the books but to help Christians connect the call to generous giving with their personal journey of faith and with the ministry needs of the church.
- The document An Introduction to Giving in Grace offers an overview of the building blocks of the programme: Leadership, Prayer, Preaching, Communication, Interaction. Resources for each of these core areas can be accessed via the menu bar buttons on the top of each web page.
- This welcome section offers guidance on navigating and using the Giving in Grace web site, a brief account of the Liverpool background, an indication of some of the financial blessings that have resulted from using the programme and case studies of churches across the country who have used the programme.
- Giving in Grace builds upon a rich tradition of Christian stewardship in the church. The distinctive elements of the programme are briefly outlined at Core Principles.
- The Timetable offers a direct, task orientated route into the extensive resource material and provides a structured framework for the work of the Planning Group which will plan the programme.
Jesus told a story of a man who dug up a treasure so valuable that he sold all that he had to buy the field. Giving in Grace is a tool to help the church to dig not for worldly wealth but the invaluable treasure of the kingdom of God, anticipated though not fully realised in our churches and local communities. Our hope is that each and every church can resource local ministry and mission and "excel also in this grace of giving" (2 Cor 8:7).
