Programme Design
Section 5 of the Case Statement provides a very simple framework for identifying the broad content of each of the five core elements of the Giving in Grace programme. At this stage it is not possible or necessary to do more than summarise the broad outline of the programme. In fact you should be very wary of attempting to put too much detail into the Case Statement at this point.
- Review the fictional St Vincent's case statement to see how a completed programme design might look.
- See Completing the Programme Design for some questions to begin discussion on elements of the programme.
- The planning group are producing a first draft not a finished document. Going to the PCC with an extensive and detailed document will create the impression that this is not a genuine consultation. Ideas and criticisms from the leadership will help shape the programme and only then can the planning group begin to put flesh on the bones of this summary.
- The case statement outlines the core elements of the programme but does not consider the critical issue of a follow up strategy once the preaching has begun and the programme launched. Efficient systems must be in place to thank those who respond, chase up those who do not and act upon requests for further information.
