Preparing the Case Statement
The Case Statement is the foundational document for everything that happens in Giving in Grace. It will summarise the key aims of the programme, the financial and mission challenges facing the church and the programme design to help accomplish these objectives. All the early work of the planning group is focused on completing, revising and communicating the case. Don’t preach, teach or challenge on Giving in Grace until you are confident of a robust Case Statement agreed by your leadership! See the case statement discussion paper for more on this and the sample case statement to see how a completed case might look.
The case statement is divided into a number of sections and web pages offer guidance in completing each section.

- Section 2a and 2b: a financial analysis of the church is made by looking at weekly patterns of giving, parish reserves and a parish plan (or budget) and presented in a simple and persuasive format. [More...]
- Section 3: the financial conclusions and actions arising from the financial position are summarised and objectives agreed to address issues highlighted by the financial analysis. [more...]
- Section 4: a gift array puts the principle of differentiation into practice by offering a range of financial responses that meets the different circumstances of church members. [More...]
- Section 5: the programme design built around the five key elements of Leadership, Preaching, Prayer, Communication and Interaction is summarised in draft outline. [More...]
- Section 6: consultation around the first draft of the case statement with the wider leadership of the church promotes consensus, ownership and personal commitment. [More...]
