Agenda for the first Planning Meeting
- Opening prayer.
- Appoint Chair for meetings.
- Bible study using the Theology discussion paper.
- An overview of Giving in Grace using the Introduction paper.
- Provisional agreement on the dates for the programme
A four week period should be provisionally agreed for the Giving in Grace programme six months from now.
- Key Principle: the Case Statement
a) Review the St Vincent's Case Statement as an illustration.
b) Consider together the case statement discussion paper.
c)
Initial short discussion of section 1 covering strengths and weaknesses and future plans for ministry/mission.
d) Write down the principle highlights of the discussion.
- Key Principle: Leadership
Discuss the Leadership discussion paper
- Assign Planning Group roles and responsibilities
(refer to the Planning Group paper).
• Preaching and teaching coordinator
• Prayer coordinator
• Interaction coordinator - visiting, cell groups and house groups
• Leadership coordinator - normally also group Chair and lead at the PCC
• Communication coordinator - including database
• Treasurer - for the programme
• Others
Each person should explore their section of the Giving in Grace resources in time for the next Planning Group meeting
- Financial
The Treasurer (with assistance if needed) agrees to complete the financial analysis and draft the Parish Plan (Section 2 of case statement), prior to the next meeting.
- Set dates for future Planning Group meetings.
Meeting sequence:
• second and third meetings of the Planning Group,
• dedicated PCC/DCC meeting to review the case statement,
• fourth and fifth meetings of the Planning Group,
• Giving in Grace as a PCC/DCC meeting agenda item, close to programme launch,
• sixth meeting of the Planning Group,
• pre programme meeting of the Planning Group.
