Planning Group Evaluation: Key Tasks

This final meeting of the Planning Group focuses on a careful evaluation of the Giving in Grace programme in the church. Taking time to reflect is important, because experience suggests that the programme will throw up a number of issues that the church may need to think about in more detail. There will also be a financial impact that will need to be measured.

In addition, there will be aspects of stewardship practice in the church that will need to be addressed in the coming months. There may be, for example, a need to look at better ways to invite new church members onto the planned giving scheme or recruited to Gift Aid. Planning Groups are strongly urged to complete the Evaluation Form, as an opportunity to maximise their learning experience from Giving in Grace.

In this evaluation meeting, Planning Groups should attend to the following items:

  1. A review and evaluation of the programme.
  2. A financial assessment of increased giving and take up of planned giving.
  3. Any adjustments to the parish plan for the coming financial year.
  4. Planning to make a report back to PCC/DCC on Giving in Grace, with recommendations of any issues that need attention.
  5. Report back to the wider church family.
  6. Consideration of the role of an Annual Review to address ongoing stewardship within the church.
